Terms & Conditions

The agreement that governs our website and locksmith dispatch service in the Baltimore area.

Last updated: October 18, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you ("you," "your," or "the customer") and Baltimore Local Locksmith ("we," "us," "our," or "the Company"). They apply to your use of this website (https://baltimorelocallocksmith.com) and to your use of our locksmith dispatch and booking service. By browsing this site, submitting the booking form, calling us, or accepting service arranged through us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or service.

1. Who we are — a dispatch service, not the locksmith

Baltimore Local Locksmith is a locksmith booking and dispatch service. We connect customers in Baltimore City and the surrounding Maryland counties — including Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, and Carroll County — with independent, Maryland-licensed locksmith professionals who operate in the customer's area. When you submit a request, our team coordinates and dispatches a qualified, licensed locksmith to perform the work.

We do not ourselves perform the hands-on locksmith work. The actual locksmith services are carried out by independent licensed locksmiths ("Service Providers") who are responsible for their own licensing, compliance, tools, and workmanship. In Maryland, locksmith businesses are licensed and regulated under the Maryland Locksmiths Act (Title 12.5 of the Business Regulation Article, Annotated Code of Maryland) and COMAR Title 09.40, administered by the Maryland Department of Labor. We work only with Service Providers we understand to be appropriately licensed to provide locksmith services in Maryland, and whose technicians are subject to the background-check requirements that apply under that Act.

2. Our role and relationship

Our role is limited to operating the website, receiving your request, and arranging for an independent licensed locksmith to contact and serve you. The Service Provider is an independent contractor — not our employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer. The locksmith work itself is a service provided by that independent Service Provider to you. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment or agency relationship between us and any Service Provider.

3. Scope of services arranged through us

Through our dispatch service, you can request:

  • Residential services — home lockouts, rekeying, deadbolt and smart-lock installation, and lock repair or replacement
  • Commercial services — master key systems, access control, panic/exit hardware, high-security keyways, and business rekeying
  • Automotive services — car lockouts, key and key-fob replacement, transponder and push-to-start programming, and ignition repair
  • Emergency access for homes, businesses, and vehicles

Whether a specific job can be completed depends on the assigned locksmith's capabilities, the lock or vehicle type, available parts, location, and time of day. Some tasks (for example, certain vehicle key programming) may not be possible for every make, model, or year.

4. Requesting service, quotes & appointments

Submitting our online booking form or otherwise contacting us is a request to be connected with a locksmith; it does not by itself create a binding appointment. We will confirm your request and dispatch a licensed locksmith. Any arrival window or response time we mention (such as our typical 30-minute target) is a good-faith estimate, not a guarantee, and may be affected by traffic, weather, demand, and on-site conditions.

5. Pricing, estimates & payment

Pricing is provided before work begins. Any quote given when you book is an estimate based on the information you provide; the final price is confirmed on site by the assigned locksmith once they can assess the actual work, parts, and complexity involved. No work exceeding an agreed price will proceed without your approval. Depending on the arrangement, payment may be made to the Company or directly to the Service Provider; this will be communicated to you. You are responsible for any returned-payment or chargeback fees resulting from a payment you improperly dispute after service was authorized and performed.

6. Proof of ownership & authorization

For your protection and theirs, the assigned locksmith may require government-issued photo identification and reasonable proof that you own — or are otherwise authorized to access — the property, vehicle, or lock in question before performing any work. Service may be refused or stopped if authorization cannot be reasonably established, if unlawful activity is suspected, or if the work would be unsafe. Refusal on these grounds is not a breach of these Terms.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate contact, location, and vehicle/lock information when requesting service
  • Be present (or have an authorized adult present) to grant access and authorize work
  • Disclose known issues that may affect the work or safety
  • Provide a safe working environment for the locksmith

8. Service guarantee

We stand behind the service arranged through us with a 60-day workmanship guarantee. If the specific work performed fails due to workmanship within 60 days, we will arrange for it to be corrected at no additional labor charge, coordinating with the original or another qualified Service Provider. The guarantee does not cover: new or unrelated issues; damage caused by misuse, forced entry, weather, pests, or third parties after service; normal wear and tear; or hardware you supplied. Manufactured parts may carry separate manufacturer warranties, which are passed through to you where applicable.

9. Cancellations & access issues

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please tell us as early as possible. If a locksmith is dispatched and cannot complete the job because no authorized person is present, access is refused, or the situation was materially misrepresented, a service or trip charge may apply. Any such charge will be consistent with what was communicated to you.

10. Limitation of liability

Because the hands-on locksmith work is performed by independent licensed Service Providers, the Company is not responsible for the acts, omissions, workmanship, or conduct of any Service Provider, except to the extent of our 60-day service guarantee described above and any obligations that cannot be disclaimed under Maryland law. Locksmith work — particularly emergency entry — can in some cases involve unavoidable wear to, or replacement of, a lock or component; where this is likely, the locksmith will tell you before proceeding.

To the fullest extent permitted by Maryland law, the Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of this website or our dispatch service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from a service arranged through us is limited to the amount you paid for that specific service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or affects rights you have under the Maryland Consumer Protection Act.

11. Website use & intellectual property

This website and its content — text, graphics, logos, and layout — are provided for general information and are owned by or licensed to the Company. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, or misuse the site, attempt to gain unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, or use it for any unlawful purpose. Information on the site is provided "as is" and may be updated or corrected at any time without notice.

12. Third-party tools

Our booking form uses Google reCAPTCHA to reduce spam and abuse; your use of it is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We may also use analytics tools to understand and improve the site. See our Privacy Policy for details on how information is handled.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our dispatch service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Your continued use of the website or our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
